Dr. Amato Offers One-Stop Dental Implants
Dr. Amato can place both full-size dental implants or mini dental implants on his own and that is because he is a highly trained implantologist—Dr. Amato not only has a surgical fellowship with Misch International Implant Institute and has both a fellowship and mastership with ICOI, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, but he is 1 of just 2 dentists in the entire state of North Carolina to receive his Mastership from ICOI, the most highly respected implantology credentialing society in the world.
Dr. Amato is also trained to do sinus lifts, sinus augmentation and sinus-bumps—all complex, highly technical implant surgery that is often necessary for people with not enough jawbone and/or with sinus complications. Dr. Amato has successfully performed several of these procedures and can do the same for you!
Dr. Amato is also the only general dentist in the area that has invested in his own Prexion CT Scanner (with low dose radiation similar to a regular Panoramic x-ray) and has the training, skill, and knowledge to read those CT scans himself to determine your optimal implant treatment. Dr. Amato has also invested in the latest training and technology to promote socket healing and bone growth, with Intra-Lock L-PRF Leukocyte Platelin Rich Fibrin, as well as more traditional bone grafting.
Other local dentists may place mini dental implants for dentures, but bring in an oral surgeon to do their full-size dental implants for them. Trust your dental implant needs to the one general dentist in the area that has the technical and surgical training and the skill to offer one-stop dental implants all by himself—Dr. Amato, your trusted one-stop implant dentist, as well as your general dentist!
Replace Your Teeth with Cutting-Edge Dental Implants
Dental Implants are the most natural looking, natural feeling restoration for your tooth—the ideal solution for tooth loss. Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are placed into your jawbone to secure a dental implant crown. Dental implants are made of titanium and are lightweight and biocompatible. They can last up to 20 years or longer.
Dr. Amato is a highly skilled implantologist and takes the safest route for successful implant placement. After a CT Scan to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for dental implants, Dr. Amato will come up with a custom treatment plan for you. Occasionally patients are ready for implant placement immediately, but Dr. Amato almost always adds bone grafting material prior to attaching implants so that the jawbone is reinforced and strengthened.
After a healing period of about 6 months, when the jawbone has healed from the extractions and/or bone grafting, the dental implants are then placed. Then after another healing period of about 4 months, the implants are screwed to abutments that will attach to dental implant crowns. After these abutments are placed, beautiful natural-looking ceramic crowns are placed that reproduce the natural teeth.
In most patients with the need and desire for dental implants, it is necessary to extract, place artificial bone in the area, and wait. Success rates for implants depend on the patient’s health, the location, the bite force, and the quality of bone, but success rates are extremely high and the result is beautiful, natural-looking teeth that stay in place permanently.
In the past, dental bridges and dentures were a patient’s only option for tooth loss, but in the last few years implants have helped us improved many people’s lives. While getting dentures is the standard solution, dentures have their drawbacks. Dentures tend to shift, rubbing gum tissue raw. Even well-made dentures can withstand only one-sixth of the chewing force that healthy teeth can tolerate. And because the jawbone erodes with less stimulation, dentures often don’t fit properly as time passes. That is why dental implants are such a great solution.
